The Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization has announced its new executive director.
Kaitlynn Weaver will take over the top job from Rob Miyashiro, who left the post in December after he was elected to represent Alberta’s NDP in the legislature.

Weaver brings with her a decade of experience working with Family and Community Support Services in rural communities around Lethbridge.
She says she’s excited to bring her knowledge and expertise, which includes applying her previous work in outreach to increase awareness for vital seniors programs.
“I think priority No. 1 is just learning as much as I can and speaking with as many people as I can, as well as stakeholders, too, or people in the community who maybe don’t know much about the LSCO,” Weaver said.
“Why is that? How could we better promote ourselves to make sure that people think of us when they are looking for some fun, for programs and fitness and things like that, but also looking for support through our social services department?”
Weaver starts her new position as the Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization celebrates its 50th anniversary this summer.
She says there will be a handful of special events coming up to highlight that special occasion.
