The Calgary Hitmen moved to within one game of advancing in the WHL playoffs Tuesday night, defeating the Saskatoon Blades 4-1.
The win gave the Hitmen a 3-0 series lead against the Blades. They’re one win from advancing to the second round.
David Adaszsynski opened the scoring late in the first, tipping a shot from Carson Wetsch past Blade goaltender Evan Gardner 19:07 into the period.
In the second, David Lewandowski scored for Saskatoon to knot the score at a goal apiece.
Calgary responded, with Tanner Howe and Ben Kindel scoring to send the Hitmen into the second intermission holding a 3-1 lead.
In the third, Connor Hvidston added another goal for the Hitmen to make the final score 4-1.

Anders Miller stopped 20 shots for the Hitmen in goal to register the victory.
Next up for the Hitmen is a Wednesday night rematch against the Blades for Game 4, where the Blades have to win or start their off-season.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The last time the Hitmen held a 3-0 series was in 2010 when they won the first three games of the WHL Championship Series with the Tri-City Americans.
