Calgary Expo has added two more stars to its 2025 roster, including a hero from a galaxy far, far away and Superman’s most infamous nemesis.
Nicholas Hoult, who is set to star as Lex Luthor in the upcoming DC film Superman, and John Boyega, best known for his role as Finn in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, will be coming to Calgary in April.
Hoult had a busy 2024, appearing in the chilling vampire horror Nosferatu, the Clint Eastwood-directed legal drama Juror #2 and the Alberta-shot crime thriller The Order.
He’s also starred in several X-Men films as Dr. Hank McCoy/Beast.
Calgary Expo will be Hoult’s first Canadian convention appearance. He is scheduled to appear Saturday, April 26, including an appearance live on stage, along with an autograph session and photo op.
Boyega was a mainstay in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker, portraying a stormtrooper-turned-rebel. He was also in 2018’s Pacific Rim: Uprising.
Boyega joins Manny Jacinto among the Star Wars alumni coming to Calgary this spring. He is also making his Canadian convention debut, which is set to include a panel discussion, autographs and a photo op. He is scheduled to appear on Saturday, April 26 and Sunday, April 27.
Other confirmed guests appearing at the Calgary Expo include Michael J. Fox and cast members from Back to the Future, Alicia Silverstone, Oscar-winner Marisa Tomei, Doctor Who cast members Catherine Tate, Jodie Whitaker and Mandip Gill, Daredevil star Charlie Cox, Superman & Lois cast members Bitsie Tulloch and Tyler Hoechlin, vampires James Marsters (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and Peter Facinelli, Kellan Lutz and Rachelle Lefevre (Twilight) and comic book icon Frank Miller, among many others.
The Calgary Expo will take place April 24-27 at the BMO Centre. Tickets are on sale now.
