When the bills add up, there’s often little left for self care, including getting a haircut.
Mamas for Mamas teamed up Friday with a mobile beauty services team to deliver free haircuts to caregivers and their children.
The space was donated by Venue 308 and a lunch was also provided, along with face painting for the youngsters.
It was the second year for the hair cutting event.

“Mamas for Mamas” mission is to help Calgary and area families who are facing hardship get a hand up.
Organizers said a free haircut goes a long way, given the tough economy – and it’s also a good boost for the soul.
“To look good and feel good and have what to some is a simple haircut is a top priority it makes people just radiate,” said one organizer, “and shine brighter. (It) gives them the confidence to go for that job interview.”
While CTV was filming, organizers said they had already provided 40 free haircuts, which was twice as many as last year.
