Clouds and cooler temps dominate much of Calgary’s weekend

Published:

It was a cold start to Friday in Calgary, with the airport recording a temperature of -10 C at 6 a.m. and held onto that temperature for much of the early morning.

Factoring in the windchill, it felt like -17!

It’s just a friendly reminder from Mother Nature that we are not out of winter quite yet!

Calgary will remain below seasonal with a high of -3 C in store this afternoon and the clouds will be sticking around and have the potential to release some more light flurries over the city later this evening and into early morning Saturday.

The rest of Saturday is shaping up to be very similar to what the city will experience today with clouds and another high of -3 C.

Some lifting in the jet stream will help bring some southwesterly winds back into southern Alberta on Sunday which will allow us to get back to a seasonal high of 4 C and a bit more sunshine to wrap up the weekend.

For St. Patrick’s Day Monday, we will continue to remain in the seasonal temperature range with above seasonal temperatures expected to return later next week.
