It will still be fairly mild for the day, but no more double-digit highs for the week in YYC—in fact, our high will be around the freezing mark for the weekend.

The avalanche risk is high in Kananaskis, Banff and Jasper areas, as well as into B.C.

Trekking into the backcountry is not advisable in many of these spots.

The warm temperatures we have, combined with the heavy snow on the way, mean it will be even more unstable throughout the next few days.

Thursday could be a bit of a messy one in Calgary.

Rain could be heavy at times, then near the supper hours we will switch into snow.

Calgary could pick up a couple of centimetres of snow.

Banff and Kananaskis could see more than 10 centimetres on Thursday.

Cool daytime highs near freezing Friday and Saturday.
