Calgary man killed in crash on Highway 1A

A 35-year-old Calgary man died in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 1A on Wednesday morning.

One person is dead and two others were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 1A east of Cochrane on Wednesday.

Emergency crews responded to the crash, which happened at the intersection with Mountain Ridge Place, around 5:15 a.m.

“Ground EMS transported one adult to Foothills Medical Centre in serious, but stable and non-life-threatening condition,” said Stuart Brideaux with Calgary EMS.

“A second patient was flown by STARS to Foothills Medical Center in critical condition and life-threatening condition.

“A third patient was not transported from the scene.”

RCMP identified the deceased as a 35-year-old man from Calgary.

The two other victims were occupants of the same vehicle.

The scene has been cleared and normal traffic has resumed.
