The Alberta Healthy Living Program helps people manage their condition through exercise, health education and self-management workshops.

It caters to people who have diabetes, high blood pressure, fibromyalgia, persistent pain and other conditions.

The program manager says it helps give people the tools to improve their quality of life.

“Having the opportunity to do action planning and set goals pertinent to your needs and priorities. … We provide them with the tools, but we allow them to do the action planning and put those pieces together to manage their chronic condition,” said Teresa Krahn.

Albertans can enroll online for as many workshops as they may need.
