Singer-songwriter Maggie Andrew has a good feeling about the work she’s doing this week as Artist-in-Residence at the National Music Centre in Calgary.
“We’re using Neil Young’s microphone upstairs; we’ve been playing Anne Murray’s guitar. It’s crazy. It’s such an awesome opportunity, and I’m so grateful for it,” Andrew told CTV News.
“I spent November writing music to actually bring to this trip so I could get the most out of it,” she said.

Since arriving this week with her musical collaborators from Nova Scotia, Andrew said there have been a number of moments where the instruments they’ve used at the National Music Centre have added to the development of her songs.
“We have a 70s influence going, mixed with today’s pop, feeling like kind of on the level of Sabrina Carpenter,” she said.
