A man and a woman are facing charges after more than $18,000 in property, consisting mainly of personal sports equipment and collectible Lego sets, was taken from a home in Marlborough Park.
Calgary police say Jan Joshua Orfinada, 31, and Tina Marja Musa, 51, are both charged with break-and-enter in connection with five incidents at a home in the 0 to 100 block of Malvern Crescent N.E.
Officials say the suspects broke into a detached garage multiple times, beginning in early February.
However, at 9:20 a.m. on Feb. 14, the homeowner contacted police when they discovered the suspects in the process of breaking in again.
“Patrol officers immediately responded to the scene and took two individuals into custody without incident,” officials said in a news release.
In addition to the above charges, Orfinada was also wanted on two other break-and-enters and one count of failing to comply with a release order.
Investigators are working to recover the stolen property.
