Provincial police in Huntsville say they arrested two people for impaired driving after two separate collisions that happened within two hours on Wednesday.

Police say officers were first called about a car having struck a restaurant on Howland Drive just after 7 p.m.

They say the investigation revealed the 42-year-old driver had been under the influence of alcohol.

The second incident happened just before 9 p.m., when a vehicle was reported stuck in a snowbank on Muskoka Road 3 North.

Police say a witness said they believed the driver was intoxicated.

As a result of the subsequent investigation, a 38-year-old woman was charged with impaired driving.

Both drivers received a 90-day licence suspension and had their vehicles impounded for seven days as a result of the charges.
