Police in Collingwood have arrested and charged a man after he was allegedly under the influence of alcohol when he crashed into a traffic light.
On Friday, just before 11 p.m., members of the Collingwood Ontario Provincial Police were called to the intersection of First Street and Pine street in Collingwood for a single-vehicle collision.
Officers say when they arrived on scene they discovered that the vehicle had allegedly destroyed the centre traffic light.

The driver was arrested for alleged impaired driving and a blood-alcohol content that was roughly two and a half times the legal limit.
As a result, a 33-year-old Toronto man has been charged with operation while impaired with alcohol and drugs, operation while impaired with a blood-alcohol concentration of 80 plus, and a blood-alcohol concentration above zero.
According to police, the driver faces a 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension and a seven day vehicle impoundment.
The accused is set to appear before the courts in Collingwood this February.
