Threats and assault on a Huntsville woman

Police were called to a disturbing assault on Yonge Street.

Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrived to find a group of men surrounding and possibly confining a woman on March 17.

Police say a male had allegedly assaulted the woman and then threatened further harm if she told police what had occurred.

The man was arrested for assault and was found to be carrying drugs.

The victim did not require medical assistance.

A 25-year-old Huntsville man was charged with assault, uttering threats to cause death/bodily harm, intimidation and possession of drugs.

The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on April 29.

The Huntsville OPP want to advise this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.
