A 17-year-old driver failed their road test before it even began after being stopped by police in a community safety zone.

Caledon police say the G2 driver was practising with their driving instructor when they were allegedly nabbed travelling 94 kilometers an hour in a 50 kilometer an hour zone.

Officials say the driver was on their way to their road test appointment at the time of the traffic stop.

Police say the teen was charged with stunt driving, received an immediate licence suspension, and had their vehicle towed, all with the driving instructor present.

The Ontario government reminds drivers that speeding and aggressive driving endanger lives, urging motorists to slow down and follow the rules of the road.
