Kilworthy residents woke up to a string of thefts March 5.
Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say a person entered vehicles and garages and removed cash and credit cards in the Kilworthy area of Gravenhurst before 5 a.m.
With the assistance of CCTV, police determined the man had used one of the stolen credit cards at a nearby restaurant.
Officers conducted an investigation and with the assistance of surveillance footage determined the suspect had used a stolen credit card at a nearby establishment.
OPP’s Muskoka Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and Orillia’s CSCU executed a search warrant in Barrie where the man and property belonging to the victims was recovered.

As a result of their investigation, police arrested and charged a Gravenhurst man with:
- Operation while prohibited
- Trespassing at night
- Theft of credit card
- Two counts of possession of property obtained by crime
- Theft under $5,000 from a motor vehicle
- Break and enter dwelling/house
- Theft under $5,000
- Mischief
- Fraud under $5,000
The accused has been held in custody for a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice on Friday to answer to the charges.
