Store owners short $26K after alleged early morning robbery

Owners of a Shopper Drug Mart in Alliston are feeling a $26,000 financial loss after merchandise was allegedly stolen from their store.

On Tuesday just after 5 a.m., provincial police were dispatched to an alarm call at 67 Victoria Street East, in the Town of New Tecumseth.

When officials arrived at the store they noticed that the front door was smashed and determined there had been an alleged break and enter.

The preliminary investigation revealed that three unknown suspects, believed to be males, allegedly smashed through the front door of the Shoppers then reportedly stole an estimated $1,000 worth of electronics and $25,000 worth of beauty products.

Police say the trio was last seen on video fleeing eastbound on Victoria Street in what is believed to be a 2007-2012 silver Ford Escape.

Suspect 1: is described as male, wearing a black winter jacket, light blue jeans, and black running shoes.

Suspect 2: is described as male, wearing a black hat, black balaclava, grey joggers, and black running shoes.

Suspect 3: is described as male, wearing all black a black ball cap and white/black running shoes.

Police are encouraging the community to look back at any camera footage for suspicious activity that may have happened between the hours of 4 a.m. and 5:16 a.m.

Officers from the Nottawasaga detachment are actively investigating this incident.
