A Tay Township resident is facing several charges after police seized a variety of drugs, multiple vehicles, designer fashion items, and cash that were believed to be obtained by crime.
According to Southern Georgian Bay and Orillia OPP, their detachment members executed a search warrant at a Tay Township home on Highway 93 Friday morning as part of an ongoing investigation.
The team of officers, community street crime unit (CSCU) investigators and members of the Central Region emergency response team (ERT) seized a slew of items. Police say the items included drugs that were believed to be cocaine, crack cocaine, codeine pills, more than $28,000 in Canadian cash, a 2024 Jeep Wrangler, a 2018 Mercedes C300, a conducted energy weapon, cell phones and other drug paraphernalia.
The fashion items seized included approximately $25,000 in high-end purses, bags, clothing and jewellery, which, according to police, were alleged to have been obtained by crime.
A 40-year-old Tay Township suspect was charged with three counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, knowledge of unauthorized weapon possession, cocaine trafficking, and cocaine possession for the purpose of trafficking.
The accused was released from custody and is schedule for a court date in early May.
