The provincial government is investing $59.3 million to build a second new high school in Wasaga Beach.
The beachfront town has never had its own high school to support local students, but will soon be home to two.
“Wasaga Beach is one of our fastest-growing municipalities and the sky is the limit here,” said Simcoe County Warden Basil Clarke.
The new school will be able to support 1,145 secondary student spaces, which officials expect will fill quickly.
According to the Simcoe County District School Board, the doors to the new school, which will be located at Sunnidale Road South and Sun Valley Avenue, will open in roughly four years.
