Shortly after 9 a.m. Monday, Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) noticed an erratic driver in a school zone on Muskoka Road 3 North in Huntsville.

Police say they stopped the car and an interaction with the passenger quickly led to an arrest of the 29-year-old Huntsville woman on charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine. She has a court date before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on April 29.

Dealing with the driver separately, police say it became apparent she was under the influence.

The driver said she had only consumed prescription medication recently. She was taken to a Drug Recognition Officer for drug testing.

The 41-year-old Huntsville woman was arrested for driving while impaired by drugs and alcohol.

She is also scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on April 29.

The vehicle has been impounded for seven days, and she was also handed a 90-day driver’s license suspension.
