A fire broke out in the early hours of the morning displacing three people from their home.
On Tuesday, just after 4 a.m., Midland Fire received a call for a structure fire on Highway 93 in Midland. Officials say a caller reported seeing smoke and flames coming from the home.
When crews arrived on scene, they say they found a working fire inside the residence. Midland firefighters were assisted by crews from Penetanguishene, Tay and Tiny Township.
Officials confirmed three people had self evacuated from the property prior to crews arriving.
Richard Renaud, Director of Emergency Services and Fire Chief of Penetanguishene said Highway 93 southbound was closed to one lane for tanker shuttle work.
Fire officials say crews remained on scene to conceal any hot spots. Police and County of Simcoe paramedics showed up to assist the firefighters.
No injuries have been reported at this time. The blaze is still under investigation but not considered to be suspicious.
“Significant damage to the structure has occurred,” concluded Chief Renaud in a statement to CTV.
