Fans at Thursday night’s Barrie Colts game at the Sadlon Arena were treated to more than just hockey as a production crew filmed elements for a remake of the 1986 classic ‘Youngblood.’
During intermissions, film crews shot crowd reaction scenes for the reimagining of the cult-classic hockey film.
The Colts gave fans a heads up on social media the day before, letting them know they could end up being shown in the production simply by attending the game.
The original Youngblood, starring Rob Lowe, Patrick Swayze, and a then-unknown Keanu Reeves followed a young hockey player’s journey with the fictional Hamilton Mustangs as he navigated both the brutality of the game and his own personal growth.
Details on the new adaption of the film are expected to be released next week.
