The Collingwood man accused of more than a dozen counts of fraud and deceit under false pretences is now in jail.
Todd Guthrie appeared in court from jail in Penetanguishene this week accused of two new counts of fraud under $5,000 relating to allegations from August and September 2023.
The 45-year-old currently faces accusations before the courts in Barrie, Bracebridge and Collingwood.
Those who say Guthrie scammed them, claim to be out thousands of dollars after they bought what they believed were highly-sought-after concert and event tickets from him; including VIP passes to last year’s NHL All-Star game in Toronto.
The complainants told CTV News that Guthrie took their money and never delivered the tickets. One woman said she met Guthrie online and gave him more than $50,000 between March and August of 2023 and wants her money back.

He faces several counts with similar allegations of people who said they were taken by Guthrie for hundreds to thousands of dollars each. In all, complainants said Guthrie made off with at least $100,000.
Those who know him say Guthrie used the money to feed a gambling addiction. He’s been in court more than a dozen times since the initial charges were laid 18 months ago.
Prior to his incarceration Guthrie, through his lawyer Emily Dyer, has expressed his intention to resolve those matters next month in Collingwood.
Guthrie is scheduled to appear in court next Friday to address the most recent set of charges. The allegations against him have not been tested in court.
