The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (R.O.P.E.) Squad is asking for the public’s help finding a federal offender with ties to the Barrie, Beeton and Alliston Areas.
According to the R.O.P.E. Squad, Thomas Andrew Hackett is wanted on a Canada-wide-warrant following a breach of his statutory release.
Hackett is 50, described as 5’7’’ tall and 170 pounds. He has a fair complexion, brown hair and blue eyes. Hackett has several notable surgical scars on his right upper arm, right ankle, left ankle and abdomen along with several tattoos on his upper back, left and right arms.
Hackett’s tattoos include the name ‘Hackett’ on his back, the name ‘Tom’ and a picture of a lion on his left arm. On his right arm are pictures of a coat of arms and leaves along with the name ‘Jess’. The words ‘The Good Die Young’ are tattooed on his right forearm.
Hackett, according to the Provincial R.O.P.E Squad is serving a two-year sentence for driving while impaired, driving while prohibited, assault, failure or refusal to comply with a demand to provide a breath sample, along with failure to comply with a probation order.
In August 2016, Ontario Provincial Police said an 11-year-old boy was rushed to hospital following an ATV crash on a trail just off the Concession 6 in Adjala-Tosorontio. The driver of the other ATV was identified by police as Hackett, then 42. Police said the boy had been riding with his uncle at the time of the crash with Hackett and suffered serious injuries. The boy was later treated at a trauma centre in Toronto. Hackett was charged with driving while disqualified.
