A Barrie man became an instant millionaire after a quick stop to a convenience store for a snack.
Keven Carrier said he heard about OLG’s Instant Millionaire Multiplier ticket from his mother, so after playing hockey one day, he picked up a ticket from the Circle K on Huronia Road in Barrie while grabbing a bag of chips.
"When I checked my ticket, I thought I’d won $100,000," he recalled. "I had to call my little brother to verify how many zeros there are in a million. Then, I FaceTimed my wife and she couldn’t believe what I was telling her.”
After his win, the father of three said he couldn’t sleep for days.
“I had a mix of emotions running through my head,” he said. “It’s hard to believe I walked into a store to buy a bag of chips and walked out a millionaire.”
Millionaire Multiplier is a scratch ticket that costs $100 per play, with a $1 million top prize.
