Provincial police arrested a man accused of trying to steal bottles of whiskey from an Alliston liquor store.
According to Nottawasaga OPP, a loss prevention officer nabbed a man at the Dunham Drive LCBO late Wednesday afternoon as he tried to leave the store with one bottle of Canadian Club Premium and one bottle of Alberta Premium Whiskey, valued at around $140.
Police allege the accused provided a false name, but officers were able to positively identify the 44-year-old man from Southgate Township. He faces charges of theft and obstructing a peace officer.
The accused has since been released from custody with a future court date set.
