A driver is facing multiple charges after a two-vehicle crash in Midland Friday evening.

According to Southern Georgian Bay OPP, officers responded to a report of the crash at around 8 p.m. at the intersection of Fifth Street and Victoria Street.

After officers spoke with the drivers who were involved, police say an impaired driving investigation began with the driver who was deemed at fault.

The latter, a 49-year-old from Midland, was charged with impaired operation (blood alcohol concentration 80-plus) and two other Highway Traffic Act offences. His vehicle was towed and subject to a seven-day impound, and his license was suspended for 90 days.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled for a court date in late February.
