Man faces slew of drug and driving charges

Drugs believed to be cocaine found in car near Wyevale, Mon., March 17, 2025.

Provincial police pulled over a white Jeep just outside of Wyevale on Simcoe County Road 6 in Tiny Township around 2:30 a.m. Monday.

The officer spoke with the driver and began an impaired investigation and soon saw the open liquor in the truck.

Upon further inspection, the officer found drugs believed to be cocaine, and drug paraphernalia.

As a result, police charged the 42-year-old man with obstructing a peace officer and operation while prohibited, as well as:

  • Possession of cocaine
  • Two counts of driving motor vehicle while suspended
  • Drive motor vehicle - no licence
  • Fail to provide permit - motor vehicle
  • Fail to provide insurance card
  • Improper mud guards
  • Operate motor vehicle with open liquor readily available to driver

The man has a court day on May 1, 2025 and the Jeep was towed and impounded for 45 days per ministry of transportation guidelines.
