Agricola Street Books is a used bookstore in the north end of Halifax.
Owner Oona Craig says she wants customers to feel relaxed and calm when visiting the shop.
“We pride ourselves on having a calm vibe in the store with all the wood. We want everyone in your family to come and relax and choose a book they really like.”
Craig says the store sells books for every age group and genre and allows customers to bring in up to twenty used books in excellent condition for store credit every two months.
“Customers get to use the credit on anything in the store,” says Craig.
“There is a lot of used bookstores around the province, but this is one of the neatest and most inviting book selling businesses that I have ever visited so I come here often,” says customer Steve Vernon.
Craig says the store also hosts variety of different community events.
“We have a monthly book club and we have some local authors that come in to talk about their books.”
All books in the store are catalogued on the website, says Craig, so customer can also purchase books online and pick them up in store.
