Queens District RCMP is investigating a fatal crash in Pleasant River, N.S.

The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, a 44-year-old man from the Halifax Regional Municipality, was pronounced dead at the scene.

RCMP and EHS responded to a report that a vehicle crashed on Hwy. 208 near the 4200 block at approximately 1:20 p.m. Friday, said a Saturday news release.

Police learned a Mercedes Sprinter van left the road and came to rest in a ditch, said the release.

Hwy. 208 was closed for several hours but has since reopened.

RCMP said a collision reconstructionist attended the scene to assist with the ongoing investigation.
