A 50-year-old woman is dead and two people are badly injured after a vehicle crashed into a power pole in Lower Sackville, N.S., Monday morning.
The RCMP, fire crews and EHS responded to the single-vehicle collision on Sackville Drive, near Hillcrest Avenue, around 9:35 a.m.
Police say the Mazda 3 was travelling on Sackville Drive when it left the road and struck a power pole.
The rear passenger, a 50-year-old woman from Lake Echo, N.S., died at the scene.
The driver, a 53-year-old man from North Preston, N.S., and a second passenger, a 56-year-old man from Dartmouth, N.S., were both taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police say the investigation into the collision is ongoing. They are asking anyone with dash-cam footage from the area between 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., to contact them at 902-490-5020 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
Sackville Drive was closed for several hours Monday. It reopened around 3:20 p.m.
