The 2025 wildfire season in Nova Scotia will start on Saturday.
The wildfire season will run from March 15 to Oct. 15, according to a news release from the Halifax Regional Municipality. Burning restrictions will be in place throughout the season.
The municipality says residents can use the FireSmart program to receive a wildfire risk assessment.
Anyone who makes an outdoor fire is asked to:
- check daily burn restrictions
- never leave the fire unattended
- completely extinguish the fire
