Halifax to Amsterdam: WestJet announces new non-stop service to Europe

The Halifax Stanfield International Airport will welcome a new non-stop service to a top European destination this summer.

Set to begin May 29, WestJet’s Halifax – Amsterdam service will operate six times a week.

“We are delighted to welcome WestJet’s new Halifax – Amsterdam service, which reflects our ongoing commitment to expanding global connectivity and providing more travel options for our community,” said Marie Manning, vice president of the Halifax International Airport Authority, in a news release.

The capital of the Netherlands, as well as the commercial and financial centre of the country, Amsterdam is known for its canals, cycling, museums, and notable landmarks such as the Anne Frank House.

“This service is not just a link between cities but a connection between cultures, fostering economic growth and tourism in both regions,” said Manning.

In addition to WestJet’s new transatlantic flights, the company will resume non-stop service to Paris and continue with flights to Dublin, Edinburgh, and London-Gatwick,

“We’re excited to see the stories that will unfold as travellers from both regions connect and discover the unique charm of these vibrant cities,” said Jared Mikoch-Gerke, WestJet’s director of alliances and airport affairs.
