Fire destroys home along Cape Breton’s Mira River

A fire that destroyed a home in Cape Breton is under investigation.

Nova Scotia’s fire marshal office is investigating after a fire destroyed a home in Cape Breton over the weekend.

Cape Breton Regional Police told CTV Atlantic officers, along with fire crews, responded to the home in the Ceilidh Drive subdivision of Albert Bridge, N.S., around 3:40 a.m. Saturday.

The home was fully engulfed upon the arrival of first responders.

On Monday, investigators could still be seen combing through the charred remains of the home on Ferry View Drive.

Police released few details about the fire and said the investigation is now in the hands of the fire marshal’s office.

No injuries were reported.
