Two people are facing several weapons charges after a gun was fired in Mainstream, N.B., on Monday.
The Western Valley Region RCMP responded to a report that a person had been held against their will and a weapon had been fired on Furlong Road before 11 a.m.
Before officers arrived, the RCMP says two suspects had fled the scene in a blue pickup truck. They found the truck parked in a residential driveway on Route 105 in Pembroke, N.B., a short time later.
Police arrested a 40-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman inside the garage of the home and seized a firearm.
Investigators determined the people were all known to one another and they believe the shooting was an isolated incident.
No one was injured.
Patrick Harris of Hartland, N.B., appeared in Woodstock provincial court on Tuesday. He is facing the following charges:
-possession of a weapon contrary to an order
-possession of a restricted firearm and ammunition without authorization or a licence
-disguise with intent
-uttering threats
-failure to comply with a probation order
-pointing a firearm
-possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
-reckless discharge of a firearm
-possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle without authorization
Tara Hamilton of Woodstock, N.B., also appeared in court on Tuesday. She is facing the following charges:
-possession of a weapon contrary to an order
-possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
-reckless discharge of a firearm
-possession of a restricted firearm and ammunition without authorization or a licence
-possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle without authorization
Harris and Hamilton were both remanded into custody. They are both due back in Woodstock provincial on Thursday for a bail hearing.
Police say the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
