Porter Airlines will expand its service in Atlantic Canada, including daily flights between Halifax and Hamilton, Ont., ahead of the summer season.
The daily Hamilton-Halifax service launches on June 3, with the first flight departing Halifax’s Stanfield International Airport at 6 a.m. A Halifax-bound flight will leave the John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport at 8:55 p.m.
Porter is launching a total of four routes from the Hamilton airport, including daily flights to Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver, in June.
Flights from Pearson to Charlottetown, Deer Lake
The airline is also adding seasonal flights from the Toronto Pearson International Airport to Charlottetown and Deer Lake, N.L., this June.
“We are pleased to see Porter Airlines is adding seasonal flights to Deer Lake and Charlottetown,” said Kurush Minocher, interim chief commercial officer at Toronto Pearson.
“These new flights give Toronto Pearson a new level of connectivity to Atlantic Canada, enhancing travel options for our passengers.”
Seasonal service between Toronto Pearson and the Deer Lake Regional Airport starts June 10 with three weekly round trips – on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Service will end on Sept. 13.
Porter will offer four weekly round trips – on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays – between Toronto Pearson and the Charlottetown Airport starting on June 13. That service will end on Sept. 14.
“Charlottetown Airport is excited to expand our service offerings with the addition of Porter Airlines jet service to Toronto Pearson, with connections to their growing network,” said Doug Newson, CEO of the Charlottetown Airport.
“This partnership will benefit Prince Edward Island residents and visitors alike, providing convenient access to explore our world-class tourism product during the peak summer season.”
All flights will operate on Porter’s new 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, which has rows with just two seats and free WiFi.
Porter says flights are now available for booking online.
