Person injured after tent fire in downtown Halifax

Man injured in Halifax tent fire A fire destroyed a tent and injured a man in downtown Halifax Friday morning.

One person was injured following a tent fire in downtown Halifax Friday morning.

Halifax Fire was called to a report of a tent fire in the Cogswell Street area around 9:15 a.m.

No one was at the scene when crews arrived, but they were notified someone went to the nearby Salvation Army with burns.

EHS assessed the person at the shelter. The extent of their injuries is not known.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Halifax Fire says the tent was a total loss.
